June 18, 2025
Hey there

I'm here to help anyone who lives in the city and is interested in pets and animals. My website is chock full of important information about pet care, looking after wildlife, working with animals...and more

Best Pet For Me

Just because you are allergic to cats and dogs, just because you "can't" have pets in your apartment, just because you don't have a lot of space or time...doesn't mean you can't have a pet. The best pet for me page on my website introduces you to different pets you can have, besides dogs and cats. You can also explore how to care for these various pets best-pet-for-me.html

Rescuing Pets

I'm especially interested in rescuing pets. There are a lof of advantages to getting a rescue pet, rather than going through a breeder or a pet store. You can read more on my adopt a rescue pet page. adopt-a-rescue-pet.html

Rescue Pet News - Service Dogs

It's important to remember that service dogs are SPECIALLY TRAINED animals that provide a certain service for a human being who has a disability.

Most people are familiar with seeing-eye dogs for people with visual disabilities. But there are other kinds of service dogs. Here's an example of a service dog helping his handler who has a problem with fainting.

Here's an example of a service dog that helps its handler manage panic attacks.
Panic Attack Service Dog
I was walking down the street and saw a small dog with a "service dog" vest. My companion laughed and couldn't imagine what that small dog could do to help a person. Here's a list of activities a service dog can do for someone in just one category:

Interaction Service Dog Tasks-- Bring a Note to a Person. Crowd Control (circling). Deliver a Credit Card or Money to a Cashier. Delivering Items from Cashier to Handler. Deliver Item to Person. Find a Specific Person. Follow a Designated Person. Go Find Help.

I obtained this list from The Giant List of Service Dog Tasks, which includes additional categories and tasks for service dogs.

Service dogs are not just companions; they provide a service, and they are protected under the law. Companion animals and emotional support animals have fewer protections. You can read more about this on my emotional support animal page
